BENZEMA TO BE GUNNERS' HIGHEST EARNER
Arsenal are edging closer to finalizing a sensational move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, according to Metro.
It is believed the France international is at the top of Arsene Wenger’s wish list this summer, and Metro claimed earlier this week that the La Liga giants were ready to accept the Gunners’ £40m bid for his services.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bernabeu this summer and Arsenal have regularly been linked with to bring him to the Premier League.
And with a fee reportedly close to being agreed, Wenger is now preparing to make Benzema the north London outfit’s highest earner in order to convince his number one target to sign for the club.
The Gunners have so far been extremely quiet in the summer window, with just Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech being signed so far.
