Reports have emerged from social media outlet twitter, that Arsenal are on the verge of signing their ‘would be’ most expensive player in the history of the club as news claims that talks between Arsenal and PSG are at an advanced stage for transfer of Edison Cavani to Arsenal in a £43.5 million agreement and also Wenger is in France to finalize the deal.
From the commencement of this summer transfer window, Arsenal have been in a search of a centre forward marquee signing. The Gunners had several bids for Real Madrid’s karim Benzema rebuffed, and they have remained in the market for an attacker – however, if the deal is completed for Cavani, he will be the most expensive player in the colours of Arsenal after Mesut Ozil.
Cavani was said to be unhappy with his boss Lauren Blanc following his refusal to play him from his favourite centre forward position.
The 28-year-old Uruguay international was instrumental in PSG’s conquest of France last season when he scored 37 goals in 56 games. Most of the goals, coming when he played from an unfamiliar left wing position.
This season, the Gunners have been shy in the front of goal – scoring one goal in their four Premier League outings.
With the presence of Ozil and Cazorla in the midfield of Arsenal, the PSG forward is expected to thrive and fire the Gunners to several titles.
