Samsung launches its thinnest-ever smartphone Galaxy A8

NEW DELHI: Samsung has expanded its metal-clad Galaxy A-series line-up with the launch of the Galaxy A8 in India. The phone has been priced at Rs 32,500

At just 5.9mm, the phablet is also Samsung's thinnest smartphone till date.

Samsung Galaxy A8 sports a 5.7-inch full HD(1080x1920p) Super AMOLED display, the largest in the range.

Powered by a 64-bit Samsung Exynos octa-core processor(1.8GHz Quad Core + 1.3GHz Quad Core) and 2GB RAM, the phone comes with 32GB storage with support for a microSD card slot for expansion (hybrid sim+microSD card slot).



It features a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera similar to the Galaxy S6. The phone comes with a 3050mAh battery and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung's TouchWiz UI. The Galaxy A8 also sports a fingerprint scanner integrated with the phone's Home button.

In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 3G, 4G (both FDD LTE and TDD LTE), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
