Celebrity Makeup Artist Jake Bailey Dead

        
 Celebrity makeup artist Jake Bailey has died, E! News confirms. The 37-year-old, who is most famous for his work with Katy Perry and Selena Gomez, appears to have committed suicide.The L.A. County Coroner's office confirmed to E! News that Bailey was found in his car this morning by his assistant and authorities believe he died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

"It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Jake Bailey's passing," his agency, Starworks Artists, tells E! News in a statement. "He was an undeniable talent, a great friend, a loving son and brother, and our grief is shared with all those whose lives he's touched.
The statement continued, "As one of the industry's most sought after makeup artists, Jake worked with an incredible client roster and his work has been featured in publications such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue Italia, Vanity Fair, and Allure. He collaborated with some of the top photographers in the fashion and entertainment industries and was also a passionate photographer himself. Jake was a mentor to many, and his work will continue to inspire. He will be truly missed by those who knew him."
"I am gutted to hear of my friend Jake's passing. I saw him on Sunday, we flew together on a plane. He made me laugh as always. @ByJakeBailey," Emmy Rossum wrote on Twitter after hearing the news.
 
CoverGirl, which counts Katy Perry among the famous faces of the brand, also said in a statement, "Jake Bailey made our world a more beautiful place. Our whole CoverGirl family is heartbroken over the loss of a great artist and friend and we extend our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones."

Bailey last posted on Instagram on Thursday, sharing a photo of himself without a caption.
