Gareth Bale has reinjured his left calf muscle and will be out indefinitely, Real Madrid said on Monday.
The soleus injury means the Wales star is likely to miss the Champions League clash on Wednesday against Paris Saint-Germain.
"Following the tests carried out on Gareth Bale in the Sanitas la
Moraleja University Hospital, the player has been diagnosed with a
soleus muscle injury in his left leg. His recovery will continue to be
assessed,"
Bale limped out of last month's 4-0 Champions League Group A win at
home to Shakhtar Donetsk with a calf injury, the fourth time in just two
years he has injured the leg.
Bale played 45 minutes in Real Madrid's 3-0 win over Levante and was
substituted by Lucas Vazquez. On Sunday he went to a private clinic for
treatment, AS reported, and on Monday he did not train with the team.
"After the 2-0 score and with the intense week he had, we saw that he
was tired and that was the moment to put fresh legs in the match,"
Benitez said.
