FOX Officially Gives 'Prison Break' Revival a Go, Confirms Negotiations for 'X-Men' TV Series

FOX Officially Gives 'Prison Break' Revival a Go, Confirms Negotiations for 'X-Men' TV Series"Prison Break" is officially returning to FOX. Speaking at the Television Critics Association panel, CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman confirm that both the original main stars, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, are on board the 10-episode project.

Walden calls the revival "a bit of a sequel" as it "picks up the characters several years after we left them" and ignores the straight-to-video film where Miller's character died. "The brothers will be back, and it addresses questions set up at the end of the series," she says.

Creator Paul Scheuring is currently writing the follow-up story. "[Paul has] a very detailed and incredible story for while these characters become relevant again," Newman explains. Walden adds that there is a "logical and believable explanation in the world of 'Prison Break.' "
